[Album] Kay Sakaguchi - "Maximum Potential"

First debuted in Japan with the pioneering female band "Tango Europe" on Alpha Records in the 1980s, then transferred to King Records (2 albums), later did studio work, and worked as a background musician for many years. In the 1990s, she made her second debut with JVC Victor Records as a member of a famed Japanese salsa band "Chica boom" (6 albums), and continued her career by touring throughout Cuba and Europe.
After that, she moved to the U.S. by herself, met her American husband JP, a music producer, and worked as a session musician for "The Academy", "The Warning", and "Almighty", etc. on RBC Records. She then started her own record label “KPJP &CO” with her husband in Japan. In 2015, seeking the highest form of bass-playing possible, she attended The M.I (Musicians Institute) in which quoted by the professors, “Kay's musician skills were already at a high level when she first enrolled at Musicians Institute. Her dedication, passion and focus for the instrument, and music, have reached a professional level and the college faculty considers her a colleague. I am confident that Kaoru will thrive as a performer and an educator in deserving environments.” In 2017, she formed the Latin soul/ funk band "Las Oceanas"(2 albums) with Orquesta de la Luz and vocalist Nora, touring throughout many locations in Japan, such as Tokyo,Osaka, Nagoya, Kyoto and Okinawa, etc. In 2023, she released her long-awaited solo album "Maximum potential", and is pursuing the essence of woman soul with gorgeous guests and artists.

Regarding the solo album project.

“Having been playing bass for my whole life, I have always been surrounded by many talented friends. When the timing was right, I wanted to make an album with my colleagues who are singers, composers, and musicians. I couldn't do it alone, but with my colleagues we could do it together. I wanted to prove to the world that there are Japanese people who love soul music as much as I do.
Fortunately, my husband JP produced the album and Labelcaster distribution backed it up with full support. Kay's album is more progressive rock, funky bass driven with a touch of R&B / Funk / Pop vocals from the likes of George Clinton, Macy Gray and Indie Arie.

@l3x Oliv3r - “Ch1ps” [New Music]

@l3x Oliv3r

@l3x Oliv3r delivers his new single on all digital platforms

@l3x Oliv3r is no stranger to darkness. Growing up in the crime-ridden town of Macon, Georgia, about an hour outside of Atlanta, the most he saw anyone achieve was a life sentence in a dead-end job. That was never enough for @l3x, he was always dreaming of the world beyond.

One day in his youth, @l3x discovered the video for 'My Band' by D12. He was mesmerized by their hilarious antics, the bravado of the music, and the girls. The possibility of creating a living by having fun, doing crazy things, and making music set him on fire. Artists seemed to have the ultimate freedom, and he knew he could have it too. He began breathing to the rhythm of Eminem, absorbing the genius production of Kanye West, and embodying the day-to-day sentiments of trials and tribulations from his favorite rock bands. He found constant inspiration in the rapper DZK, whose prolific underground catalog got millions of listens. DZK's genre-bending aesthetic and devotion to the darker side of life mirrored @l3x's and showed him how to carve his path.

Right after high school, @l3x moved to Atlanta for college and started hustling by playing dozens and dozens of shows and handing out his music to anyone that would listen. He networked tirelessly, joined student organizations, and even became a member of several music-oriented university organizations. He poured the contents of his soul into his music and built up a following. When the university’s event board was looking for opening acts for Rick Ross, @l3x mentioned his music and everyone immediately chose him for an opening slot. But Rick Ross suffered a stroke before the show and canceled. Shortly afterward, @l3x got the opportunity to open up for Big Boi during a festival and that show was rained out.

@l3x had been excited to play with these two icons and the disappointment shook him to his core. He felt like the universe itself was against him. Haters called his music evil, vile, and demonic. Other Atlanta rappers that he admired quit the game and his courses needed more attention. He couldn't break through, so he decided to take a break.

@l3x Oliv3r

After graduation, @l3x threw himself into a career in finance. He began working an intense schedule that started at 9 am and ended somewhere between 2 and 5 am. This grueling schedule continued for two and a half years until @l3x began missing how connected and free he felt when he was making music. He took an easier job and got to work on Faust I, a tape he's wrapping and plans to release in the coming months.

Whatever your mood is, @l3x will amplify it and be with you through it all. He combines the complex lyrical maneuvers of Tech N9ne with an intoxicating flow that's reminiscent of Migos. The production style is dark, diverse, and futuristic and reminds one of the stylings of Kid Cudi or Travis Scott, but @l3x tackles subjects that aren't typically explored in rap. Sure, he drinks too much, engages with too many promiscuous women, and smokes more hookah than any mortal should, but in the next breath, he's quoting H.H. Holmes and digging into ideas of depression, insecurity, self-loathing, and abandonment. @l3x is unabashedly pessimistic. He weaves a loner's narrative through enchanting choruses, a multi-syllabic rhyming style, and witty punchlines. His music is hot, smoky, and reckless. @l3x turns off the lights and invites you to sit in the dark with him and makes you want to.

The single “Ch1ps” produced by Oliv3r’s great friend, JWood who produces about 70% of his music is one of those fun “money” songs. It is definitely something different than Oliv3r’s other works.

“As for the song, I generally try to make songs with a deeper meaning. Darker songs that explore the nature of our individual lives and humanity. However, Ch1ps is not that type of song.” Sometimes you just want to have fun. Make a song about the thing everybody else is rapping about to feed your fanbase. Normally, I have some crazy idea and JWood(used to my insanity) complies and creates something ready to be heard by thousands and thousands of people. I only have a few songs with features, and “Ch1ps” is not one of them. All me this time.”

The video will be officially released via Youtube on March 15th but if you can’t wait, it is available on his website right now!

Welcome to the next enigma of Hip-Hop music. Get ready to go so deep into hell that you'll forget to care about heaven, and to get so high that you'll forget hell ever existed. His music is hot, smoky, and reckless. It's a quick overindulgence with someone you can't keep your eyes off of. His rhymes are written on the small of your back, and they leave scars. It's not for the timid, but for those that have smelled the devil's breath and lived to tell the tale, it’s nothing short of magic. Be sure to connect with @lex Oliv3r on his website, social media, and digital music platforms.

[Music] Teck-Zilla F/ Recognize Ali, Da Flyy Hooligan, Elzhi & RX The Rapper - "The Best Emcees"

Hard-working producer/DJ Teck-Zilla is not resting on his oars as he returns with another posse cut that brings together some unexpected names for a unified lyrical assault front. The song in question, titled “The Best Emcees” is a brooding cinematic cut that brings Ghanaian/American lyricist Recognize Ali, UK’s Da Flyy Hooligan, Detroit’s super lyricist Elzhi (of SlumVillage fame), and emerging rapper/actor RX The Rapper. The aptly titled record sees the rappers bring out the proverbial big guns and each solidifying their status as trusted lyricists in their own right. Recognize Ali opens up the floor with his gruff vocals and verbal body blows as he shoots at the opposition while giving props to a certain legendary Queensbridge who paved the way. This is followed by RX The Rapper’s animated hook that reminds us that other emcees are fish food when it comes to this crew. We then head to the UK courtesy of Da Flyy Hooligan who blends flashy bravado raps with his distinct UK underground swagger draped in Donna Karen while cruising the ends in a regal Aston Martin. The last verse is anchored perfectly by Elzhi who points out the flaws of certain enemies who try to ice him but he skated off with 8 figures. The fun doesn’t stop here as the revered lyricist raises the ante with each bar as he ends with this quote, “My mind is so woke, I’m laughing at sleep” right before Teck-Zilla flips the beat into a groovy jazz section to close it out. “The Best Emcees” is Teck-Zilla’s follow-up single to the previously released “LosTtres Grandes” which featured John Jigg$, Revalation and Nolan The Ninja.

He started his music career in his early stages of middle school and gradually excelled in entertainment as the years went on.

[Video] Rockness Monsta f/ Ron Browz, Bo Blakk & Milly Dod - "Feast"

Heltah Skeltah's own Rockness Monsta returns with his latest album single, “Feast” featuring Bo Blakk and Milly Dod. Produced by Harlem hitmaker, Ron Browz—who's produced for the likes of Nas, Big L, Snoop Dogg, 50 Cent, Fat Joe, Lil Wayne, Jim Jones and many more—this high-powered street anthem marks the third official focus track taken from the Boot Camp Clik affiliate's forthcoming album, Ether Rocks. “Feast” hits DSPs on June 3rd via American B-Boy Records in partnership with Fat Beats. On American Bboy records @thelastamericanbboy Since making his mark in the '90s through the early aughts as a part of the legendary Boot Camp Clik and one half of "Da Incredible Rap Team" and duo Heltah Skeltah, Rock (also known as the Rockness Monsta) has been conservative with solo efforts. With one of the most distinct voices in hip-hop, the Brooklyn emcee released his full-length debut solo album Rockness AP in 2017, and now looks to step back into the spotlight with his sophomore album, Ether Rocks. Produced entirely by Harlem, New York's Ron Browz (Nas's "Ether", Jim Jones's "Pop Champagne", etc.), the project sees Rock's ominous tone and sharp flow transposed from the traditional Boom-Bap beats of Da Beatminerz and others, into a sonic backdrop that retains grit yet bolsters an updated and more sophisticated style from the legendary emcee. The 12 track LP boasts guest appearances from Method Man, Steele (Smif-N-Wessun), Ruste Juxx and more, and is out through American B Boy Records in partnership with Fat Beats. "Dope is dope. I'm trying to break out of the underground rap box and ease into 'grown man rap'. This album is basically my way of showing y'all more sides to myself musically and conceptually. A lot of our culture wants you to do the same thing over and over. That's understandable but not realistic as we are forever evolving as human beings. So, while I continue to serve jedi level barbarian bars, I'm adding some things to the menu." - Rockness Monsta
